Lansdale Windows: What Makes This Market So Special
The railroad built this town. North Penn came through in the 1850s and the borough incorporated later in 1872. The name comes from Philip Lansdale Fox, the surveyor who laid out the line.
Nearly 19,000 people live in three square miles here, which makes Lansdale one of the tighter boroughs in Montgomery County, and attached homes account for about a third of the residences in town. Homes like the brick twin a few blocks off the station is the house we see most.
The build dates can affect window quotes here. About a quarter of Lansdale went up before 1940. The median is 1958. In the pre-war stock you’re usually dealing with original wood double-hungs that may have been painted shut, cords long gone, and openings that stopped measuring square sometime during the Truman administration. Post-war is a different story: first-generation aluminum, or an early vinyl replacement that might be fogged between the panes because the seal let go years back. It’s usually the same complaint from the homeowner, but two totally different projects.
Then there’s the train! SEPTA’s Lansdale/Doylestown Line has three stations inside the borough (downtown, Pennbrook to the south, 9th Street to the north), and the Pennsylvania Northeastern still runs freight through the Lansdale Yard. On those blocks, sound dampening is the first question we get. Frame thickness won’t fix it. But laminated glass and a rough opening that’s been properly sealed and insulated will, and we’ll tell you what you actually need before you spend a dollar.

Common Questions from Lansdale Homeowners
Can new windows do anything about noise from the Lansdale/Doylestown Line?
Yes, though not the way most people expect. With three SEPTA stations in the borough and freight still running through the Lansdale Yard, this comes up constantly on the blocks near the tracks. The gains come from laminated glass and from sealing and insulating the rough opening properly, not from a thicker frame. We will tell you what is realistic for your specific exposure before you spend anything.
Do I need a permit to replace my windows in Lansdale Borough?
Not for a straight replacement. Lansdale Borough requires a building permit only if you are changing the size of the window opening. Pennsylvania’s Uniform Construction Code takes the same position, exempting window replacement without structural change. If your project does alter an opening, we’ll work with you on the application and coordinate the inspection.
Will the Design Review Board need to approve my new windows?
Probably not. Lansdale’s design review requirements specifically exempt replacement of existing windows and doors, as long as you are not swapping transparent surfaces for solid ones and the new unit does not exceed the existing dimensions by more than 10 percent.
Do all new windows qualify me for a tax credit?
No. The federal Section 25C energy efficiency credit expired on December 31, 2025, so there is no federal credit available for 2026 installations. Any manufacturer or utility incentives are separate and change often. We will tell you what is actually available when you book, rather than building a quote around a credit that no longer exists.
Is painting included?
Products can be ordered factory-finished, and we handle all capping and exterior trim work. We do not paint interior trim. We replace existing trim with primed trim, and the homeowner paints it or hires a painter once installation is complete.
How is disposal handled?
We pack in and pack out each day, leaving your home as clean as we find it. All debris and old materials are hauled away by our crews and disposed of in our own dumpsters at our warehouse.
